Municipal Flag Policy
The purpose of this process is to ensure that flags at the Municipality of Chatham-Kent sites are flown and displayed properly and that the procedure followed ensures the dignity and respect for who the flags are flown.
As per the Chatham-Kent flag policy:
- Requests will be processed on a first come first served basis.
- The Municipality of Chatham-Kent will not display flags for business or commercial purposes, or flags deemed to be inappropriate, offensive in nature or supporting discrimination, prejudice, political or religious movements.
- An event flag shall be flown no more than once per calendar year.
- All flag requests must be made six (6) weeks prior to the requested date.
- For recurring requests for annual dates of significance, each request must be resubmitted annually.
