Subdivision Parking Changes
To improve traffic flow and ensure road safety for everyone in the community, parking changes are coming in both new and existing subdivisions.
What's Changing?
To create safer and more accessible streets, parking will be restricted to one side of certain roads in your subdivision. Here is why these changes are necessary:
- Efficient Traffic Flow: Limiting parking to one side on straight roads helps maintain smooth two-way movement. In low-traffic residential areas like cul-de-sacs, where space is less constrained, vehicles can pull over near driveways to let others pass safely.
- Safe Turns for Large Vehicles: Snowplows, garbage trucks, and emergency vehicles need enough space to turn safely, especially in winter.
- Clear Sightlines on Curves: Restricting parking on the inside of curves improves visibility and prevents collisions.
When Will This Happen?
Sign Installation: No parking signs will be installed over the coming months. Some streets will see parking signs installed in the coming days, while others will be updated later.
