Virtual Public Engagement Session for Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is hosting its second public engagement session on the development of an updated Parks & Recreation Master Plan. The purpose of the session is to provide a short presentation on the Draft Master Plan Vision and Strategic Directions followed by an interactive session to collect feedback, receive comments, and answer questions.

This session will be held virtually on Microsoft Teams.

Date & Time: November 12, 2024, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Location: Microsoft Teams / Meeting ID: 211 560 885 942 / Passcode: 96tuq4

The Master Plan will provide a framework for the Municipality to identify and prioritize the delivery, upgrading, divestment, or new development of parks and recreation infrastructure, services, and programs to meet the needs of residents over the next ten years. The previous Parks & Recreation Master Plan was adopted in 2010.

"We have had some great engagement from the community so far,” said Ian Clark, Manager of Parks, Recreation and Cemeteries. “This is the public's chance to shape our 10-year strategy before the draft plan is brought before Council in the Spring."

This virtual engagement session will cover the following topics:

  • Project Description & Background
  • Project Goals & Objectives
  • What we have heard so far
  • Draft Vision and Strategic Directions for Parks and Recreation in Chatham-Kent
  • Project Next Steps

The first public engagement session was held in-person on August 1 at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre. Project information is available at https://www.letstalkchatham-kent.ca/parks-recreation-master-plan-update.
