St. Clair College Potentially Donating Land to the Municipality for Regional Park

St. Clair College is potentially donating land on Bear Line in Ward 4 to the Municipality for the development of a regional park, with the matter coming to Municipal Council for consideration and voting on Monday, May 29, 2023. If approved, the design for the park will be commenced immediately and is expected to provide a space for a variety of recreational activities.

"We are thrilled to have this land donated from St. Clair College for this project," said Mayor Darrin Canniff. "This new park will be a great addition to our community and will provide opportunities for residents of all ages to get involved in sports and physical activity."

“We are happy to work with Chatham-Kent on this donation and to have the opportunity to contribute to the community through this great project," said Patti France, President of St. Clair College. "We believe that this park will provide a space for residents to come together and enjoy the benefits of sports and physical activity."

Subject to the finalization of the necessary agreements and approvals, the land for the park is expected to be transferred to the Municipality in 2023, with construction on some elements beginning in late 2023 or early 2024. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development.
