Blenheim’s First Family Community Housing Build Nearing Completion

Blenheim’s first family Community Housing Build, located at 36 McGeorge Street, is now in the final stages of construction and is anticipated to be ready for occupancy by February 2025. This new development is an essential step forward in Chatham-Kent’s commitment to supporting affordable housing for families in the region.

This three-storey, smoke-free building will offer a total of 17 units, designed to accommodate the needs of local families. The building includes nine 3-bedroom units, six accessible 3-bedroom units, and two 4-bedroom units. Additional features include patios or balconies, parking, and pay-per-use laundry facilities, all designed to provide comfortable living for eligible households.

Situated near downtown Blenheim, the new development offers close proximity to local schools, daycare centres, parks, a splash pad, and the community arena, creating an ideal environment for families.

Eligible households, those with two or more children and an annual income of $52,500 or less for a 3-bedroom unit, or $61,000 or less for a 4-bedroom unit, are encouraged to apply. This project aims to provide affordable, high-quality housing for families that meet these criteria.
