Libraries are more than a space to house books. They are community hubs where folks can find meaningful connection, gain access to information, new perspectives, and community services, and discover an inclusive and compassionate sense of place. Libraries help communities realize spaces and stages from which stories of the past and present can be told, and visions of the future can be built up, torn down, and investigated.
Engaging feedback from the CKPL strategic planning survey, Let's Talk Libraries CK, animates a conversation about the past, present, and future role of the library in a community through two main projects: Works Cited and This Is A Library Podcast. Using alternative community engagement techniques, these projects look to write and tell stories about the potential future of CKPL as imagined by CKPL patrons and staff, and the greater Chatham-Kent community.

Let's write an inspiring future together, one story at a time, Chatham-Kent.
Works Cited
Engaging text based and public art practices, Works Cited collects responses from the CKPL strategic planning survey and distills them into future-focused phrases that adorn the sides of all CKPL branches, activating the feedback from the community and showing the thoughts and ideas from the community back to itself.
Below is a list of all quotes installed, including their location, and a bit of context about how the quote connects to the bigger picture for CKPL. Have a read, then have a wander to each CKPL branch to check out the installations in person! Photos have been uploaded to Google Maps for a sneak peak!
