There are many ways to support your library. Whether you donate your time, your books, or make a commemorative donation or a monetary gift, your contributions enhance and enrich our services and collections. Thank you!

Make a Financial Donation

Want to give back to your community library? CKPL welcomes and encourages financial donations from individuals, businesses, service clubs, foundations and non-profit organizations, to enhance quality public library service. Every gift makes a difference! Contact us at 519-354-2940 to learn about how your gift can make a difference at CKPL or click the "Make a Financial Donation" button below.

The Literary Angels Program

The Literary Angels Program accepts donations from patrons to purchase library materials in honour of others. A gift from The Literary Angels Program is perfect for those who love books, reading and libraries! Celebrate a special friend or teacher or dedicate a title as a memorial tribute. With a recommended donation of $25.00, staff select an appropriate title. A bookplate identifying the recipient, donor and the occasion will be placed inside the front cover. We will notify the honoree or whomever you desire to inform them of the gift you have made to CKPL so they can borrow the item. Tax receipts for donations over $10.00 are mailed to donors.

CKPL enjoys the support of The Friends of the Ridgetown Library. The Friends of the Ridgetown Library was formed in 2004 and has actively fundraised for enhancements to the Ridgetown Branch. They regularly assist with programs promoting literacy including sponsoring TD Summer Reading Club. Meetings are held at the Ridgetown Branch on the second Tuesday of the month except during July and August. Call the Ridgetown Branch at 519-674-3121 to learn more. For more information, read CKPL's Volunteer Policy and Friends of the Library Policy.

Book and Non-Print Donations

Thank you for thinking of Chatham-Kent Public Library and contributing towards putting quality materials on the shelves of your library. We appreciate your donation.  Like you, we want to provide the very best books for everyone to use. Although we recognize that some items may be well loved and valuable to you, they are not always appropriate for a library collection. As well, we do not always have enough space to house all the items that we would like which means that we have to make choices about what will go on our shelves. It also costs up to $15 per item to put donated materials in the library. CKPL's Book and Non-Print Donations Guidelines explain how staff decide whether to add a donated item to the library collection. For detailed information on making a donation to CKPL, please review our Gift Acceptance Policy.
