I'm Emma Koehler and a Certified Pedorthist. Over 50 years ago, my family started Henderson Shoes in Blenheim, which continued for two generations, helping people get the right fit for their shoes. I'm not sure if it's genetics or coincidence, but I have followed my grandparent's career path in the foot business and residing in Blenheim.
My career involves the design, manufacturing and fitting of custom foot orthotics and therapeutic modifications to footwear. I provide relief from painful or disabling conditions of the lower legs and feet. I first left Chatham-Kent in 2013 to earn my Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph. I moved to London to complete my post-graduate diploma in Pedorthics at Western University.
For three years, I have been designing orthotics at Shantz Orthotic Solutions Inc. at the London clinic. Thanks to Christy Shantz, I have had the opportunity to open a satellite clinic in Chatham to service patients in my community. I will be working at both clinics while building a full-time client base in Chatham.
I am so excited to be back in Chatham-Kent, giving back to the community and bringing my Pedorthic services to the area. I love #LivingCK because the community is so supportive and I am able to enjoy the outdoors in Rondeau Park as well as on Lake Erie.
