Erieau is on the waters of Lake Erie and Rondeau Bay and it should be on your #VisitCK experience "To Do" list.
A great beach, trails, food, shopping and people - Erieau has it all for your daytrip or as part of a longer CK vacation.
The beach is a great place to bring the family to enjoy a completely accessible playground, build a sand castle and rent water sport equipment for a fun day on Lake Erie. There is a mobility mat that leads to the water, making the water and beach accessible to all. You will want to take a walk on the pier (there's an ice cream shop close-by if that helps!) and capture a photo of the scenic lighthouse (it's an iconic spot here in CK and you will notice that we use it a lot in our marketing - be sure to take a photo and tag us on social media). From the pier you can watch boats go in an out and can see across to Rondeau Provincial Park, the second oldest PP and well worth a visit.
In the summer, enjoy the annual Boulevard of Dreams Car Show, look for special treasures in the shops along the Erieau Boulevard Trail and enjoy the Art on the Boulevard. Stay for dinner; fresh perch awaits you at Molly & OJs or grab a local craft beer and tasty meal at Bayside Brewing Co. You can watch the sunset with a delicious ice cream cone from Mariners Cone & Shake.
You can go fishing along the pier or behind the Fire Hall (also a great place to sit with your icecream and enjoy Rondeau Bay). Fishing attracts a lot of people to CK and charters operate from Erieau so you can catch "the big one" too - learn more on our VisitCK Fishing pages. In July, you can catch prized fish, and earn bragging rights, in the Great Erie Salmon & Walleye Hunt. The Erieau Marina is perfect for launching or docking your boat where you are close to the beach, restaurants, and a boat repair facility with accessories and supplies, including an LCBO.
A vast array of wildlife is on offer at McGeachy Pond Conservation Area Trail and Erieau Marsh Trail - perfect for a walk along the water's edge. On your way into Erieau take a hike on the Black Oak Trail and stop at Pardo's Berrie Farm to pick your own berries for dessert. Grab local produce at Greatview Orchards for a delicious salad and taste the sweetness of seasonal fruit at Delhaven Orchards. Erieau has a unique charm that keeps you coming back year after year to Chatham-Kent's resort port and we just know that you will want to stay longer - you're covered there too as there are many places to stay in Erieau or close by (tip: book early as many families return year after year and rooms fill-up fast). One place to check out is Willow Barrel Retreat.
