Comments on incident/response: Pumper 1, Pumper 2, Ladder 2, Rescue 2 responded 127 Wellington Street East, Chatham to a residential structure fire at 3:23am Saturday morning. When crews arrived, they reported flames coming from first floor windows. Firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire on the first floor. They continued to work on the second story to pull ceiling and gain access to a deep-seated fire that had spread into the attic. Chatham-Kent EMS and Chatham-Kent Police were on scene assisting fire crews. No one was home at the time of the fire. No injuries reported. Chatham-Kent Fire Investigators are currently on scene. Damage Estimate is unknown, Cause is under investigation.
