Chatham-Kent Economic Development is Getting Back to a 'Boots on the Street' Approach

After almost two years of Zoom meetings, phone calls, and webinars, Chatham-Kent Economic Development is bringing their services back into the real world and putting boots back on the street to support CK's business community. Economic Development Officers will be out engaging with businesses of all sizes to identify how the municipality can be a better partner in business, cut red tape, and help fuel the recent growth being seen throughout Chatham-Kent.

"It's fantastic to be able to conduct in-person consultations again; to be able to sit down with business owners at a table in their restaurant or across from them in their office, face-to-face, and really engage with them on how Economic Development can offer our support; how we can help them grow and expand their business." says Economic Development Officer Doug Robbins.

Mayor Darrin Canniff, who often attends corporate visits along with members of the department, says "with provincial and municipal restrictions easing, the time is right to start engaging our business community in person again. The Municipality is here to support CK's businesses and investors, and we're always available to discuss their plans for growth and how we can help support them going forward.”

Economic Development is also venturing back to in-person events, hosting their first free in-person seminar "Resilient Businesses: Thriving in Times of Change and Chaos" at the Bradley Centre on May 5th with speaker Gary McDonald. This seminar focuses on unpacking various key principles & concepts to finding ways to increase staff engagement & profitability.  Those interested can find more info and register here.
